How to root Samsung Galaxy SM-G930F using CF-Auto-Root [Guide]
So
you found out about rooting Android and wondered if you could pull it
off without getting your device into trouble. The answer is a resounding
yes if you are using anything as well adjusted as Chainfire’s
CF-Auto-Root tool—a one-click rooting tool predominantly made for
Samsung devices. Rooting Android with the CF-Auto-Root is safe and quick
and makes you in control of the root user account—the same account that
everybody wants to get to know because it holds the power of being ale
to install and uninstall anything you like.
REQUIREMENTS
- You
need to have the Samsung Galaxy G930F smartphone that is given the
SM-G930F model number to use the CF-Auto-Root tool file that is
available in this guide. You can get away with flashing custom recovery
images on the wrong device, and they just won’t work, but you don’t get
that luxury with the CF-Auto-Root files. If you flash the wrong one
here, you brick your device and will need to flash another stock ROM
probably from Sam Mobile to get you unbricked.
- You need a
computer that is running on a version of the Windows operating system to
use this guide. The Odin flashing tool in this guide is made to work on
a Windows operating system and not any of the others.
BEFORE WE BEGIN
- Chainfire
was running on the G930F firmware build number when he
developed the version of the CF-Auto-Root tool found in this guide for
the Samsung Galaxy G930F smartphone. You don’t need to be running
on the same firmware build number that he was running. He just gives
that information to you so you can use it as an indicator if need be
sometime in the future.
- You need to have the Developer Options menu unlocked and the USB Debugging Mode enabled
before connecting to the computer so the Android software allows for
you to make changes to it or else the rooting will not work.
- Install the Samsung USB Drivers
on your Windows computer if you don’t have them installed already
because those drivers are going to be what allows your smartphone to
connect to the computer and get detected by the flashing tool when you
open it up.
HOW TO ROOT SAMSUNG GALAXY G930F USING CF-AUTO-ROOT
- Download the CF-Auto-Root tool for the Samsung Galaxy G930F
- Open
the Downloads folder to find your rooting file and extract it to the
Downloads folder by right-clicking on it and choosing to extract it.
- Boot the Samsung GalaxyG930F smartphone into the Download Mode that it has available and connect it to the computer with the USB cable after it is done.
- Run
the Odin flashing app executable file that is available in the
Downloads folder and checks that it shows a blue or yellow ID: COM port
and gives the added message from the Log entry so you know the Samsung
USB Drivers are working.
- Click the AP button and browse through to the Downloads folder and select the CF-Auto-Root tool file.
- Click on the Start button from Odin and the rooting of the Samsung Galaxy S7 begins.
In
conclusion, that is all you need to root Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930F
smartphones running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow software updates by
flashing a clean version of Chainfire’s CF-Auto-Root tool. You get to
install all of the same root apps using this rooting tool as you would
any of the others, and most of those apps are available from the Play
Store, of course as soon as your device finally reboots back into normal
mode.
